Baby Girl found Alive Inside Pit Toilet

A new born baby girl was found dumped in a pit toilet
at Rafin-dadi Primary School in Katsina Metropolis.

Narrating the incident to leadership, Malama Amina, a teacher at the primary school said a sign of blood was seen in one of the classrooms, and was traced up to the pit toilet of the school.

Amina said that they all gathered around it, wondering what it must be, and they insisted that the toilet should be dug out in order to clear any doubt.

Some good Samaritans set to work and a fine baby girl was found alive inside, probably born in the class the previous night and dumped in the toilet by her Mother.

The girl was well and hearty except for the worms which filled her ears.

“We are all mothers, so we washed her thoroughly and clothed her.” Said Amina
The ward head Malam Rufa’i Tukur to whom the incident was reported to immediately, was at the scene, and warned of severe penalty on whoever committed this cruel act.

“We are going to search vigorously for the culprit and statistics of all pregnant women who gave birth recently in the area are going to be conducted.” Said the ward head
The innocent baby girl was handed over to a Motherless babies home in Katsina for proper care.

This is the third baby found dumped by her mother in less than one month, the other two were found dead inside a polythene bag at an Abattoir new burial ground and Kofar-Marusa area respectively.
