INEC opens dedicated call lines - The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has provided phone lines for the electorate to send reports to the commission on happenings during the elections.
All that is required for filing a report is to send SMS to any of the following INEC hotline numbers:
0816-666-2222, 0812-000-6622, 0809-666-2221.
The commission said “the reclaimnaija.net incident reporting platform is powered by the Ushahidi engine that allows the gathering and distribution of data via SMS, email or web.
“The collated data is geo-tagged and displayed on Google map of Nigeria. This makes it possible to view the specific locations of reported incidents.”
Incident reports can also be sent via email while videos and photos of events during the elections can be sent to info@reclaimnaija.net or directly through www.reclaimnaija.net website.
There are also hotlines through which INEC can receive calls in the situation room. The numbers are; 0707-0273-6781 to 9.
INEC said the general public is encouraged to send situation reports through the provided means.
