Three die in Borno State Boko Haram bomb attack

Three persons have been confirmed dead in this morning‘s bomb attack on Baga Road in the Borno State capital, Maiduguri.
Although no group has claimed responsibility, the bomb is believed to have been planted by Islamic sect, Boko Haram.

Spokesman of the Special (Military) Task Force in Maiduguri, Col Victor Ebhaleme, confirmed the incident.The sect has been blamed for a series of bomb attacks in parts of the North and Abuja as well as the killings of about 200 people.

Currently, the STF is engaged in a decisive operation to rout the sect from Borno State.

The poor security situation in the state forced the University of Maiduguri to shut down on Monday till further notice.

The sect is also believed to have planted a bomb at a spot in Madalla on the Abuja-Kaduna Expressway on Monday night. No death or injury was recorded in the blast.
